Jøkelfjord Laks AS was founded in 1986, is a privately owned company and is ideally located in Kvænangen municipality in Troms - as we like to proclaim to the world's most beautiful areas! The municipality stretches from the Arctic Ocean to the Finnmark plateau, reflecting much of northern Scandinavia's diversity in terms of topography and vegetation.
What originally started out with small cages, stocking of 15 000 smolts and a camper on the beach, is today a modern company that exports of salmon for more than 100 million annually. With our 35 years, we are the municipality's largest, private workplaces, and we're growing.
We now have six fish for food concessions and puts out approx. 1.5 million smolts, and aims to increase this further.
Oslo, 13 January 2011: Morpol ASA ("Morpol") has entered an agreement to buy 100% of the shares in Jøkelfjord Laks AS. The agreement values the company at an enterprise value of NOK 490 million.
