What are fish and shrimp feed?
From sustainable raw material to high-performance nutritional feed solutions
Selecting the right raw materials
We go to great lengths to ensure that all the ingredients used in our feeds are from responsibly managed sources. Each raw material undergoes a comprehensive evaluation and approval process before being transported to our plants
Creation of the best formula
Accurate calculations of the contents of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals of all our ingredients allow us to formulate foods that meet the nutritional needs of each species and each phase of life in which they are found. This allows us to ensure an optimal state of health and growth, as well as meet the specific requirements of each client.
About our products
Aqua feed products & feed concepts
Skretting has consistently developed innovative products and concepts that, over time, have evolved into production standards. Not only do Skretting products wholly meet the nutritional requirements of fish at larval and grower stages, they also counteract the effects of stress.
Our feed production process
Using sophisticated processing systems and technical expertise, different ingredients are ground to similar particle sizes and then mixed according to each diet’s very specific formula. Water is added to make a paste and this mixture then undergoes a pelleting process. We produce a range of feed sizes, from under 1mm to over 10mm. Next, the pellet is dried and oil is applied. All finished feeds are carefully evaluated in our laboratories and must be approved before packaged and transported to our customer
Shipping logistics
From our production plants, the finished products are loaded on ships or trucks to be sent to fish farms or our customers' culture centers in bags or big-bags. Our logistic systems allow us to ensure that the food arrives correctly at the facilities of our customers according to their requirements.
Through our focus on sustainable innovation we aspire to be part of this solution. As experts with a global presence in animal nutrition and food for aquaculture, we are in an ideal position to contribute to the development of more sustainable food production.
