DESMI Ocean Guard was founded in 2009 by three shareholders:
A. P. Moller – Maersk
Skjølstrup & Grønborg ApS
DESMI A/S
Together these shareholders have more than 300 years experience in the maritime industry. Utilizing the vessel operation expertise from A. P. Moller – Maersk, the water treatment expertise from Skjølstrup & Grønborg and the pumping expertise from DESMI is giving DESMI Ocean Guard a unique platform to develop reliable, cost effective and 100 % efficient Ballast Water Treatment Systems having all potential implications into consideration already from the very start of developing the system.
The company produces environmentally safe and extremely energy-efficient ballast water disinfection systems based on UV technology. The OXYCLEAN concept is unique and is the only UV-based system on the market, which is both type approved and IMO approved in fresh water as well as seawater. In contrast to the widely used chlorine based systems, the OxyClean ballast water treatment systems pose no risk to the environment, the ship crew nor the ballast water tanks
