Prices

The future price for 3 to 6 kg for December is NOK 62.40 (EUR 6.40/kg), while that for January and February is expected to reach NOK 65.45 and 64.25 (EUR 6.71 and 6.57).

During week 46, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 55.90 (EUR 5.79/kg). This price is down 3% on that of the previous week and up 4% on that of the same week in 2017. Regarding the same week in 2016 it is down 12% in value, according to Norwegian Statistics. So far this year, the weekly FOB price of fresh salmon exports (HS 03121201 and 03121202) at Norwegian Customs averaged NOK 61.57/kg (EUR 6.38/kg), down 1% on that of the same period in 2017 and up 4% on that of 2016.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 60.40 (EUR 6.26/kg), up 2% on that of the previous week and up 14% on that of the same week in 2017; it was down 11% on that of 2016. So far this year, the average price of frozen salmon exports has been NOK 58.96 (EUR 6.11/kg), down 9% in value on that of the previous year and up 2% on that of 2016.

Markets

Exports of fresh salmon during the analysed week reported 19,468 tonnes. This figure is up 4% on that of the previous week and similar to that of the same week in 2017, ; it was up 8% on that of the same week in 2016. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 782,400 tonnes, up 7% on that of the same period in 2017 and 10% on that of 2016.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 500 tonnes. This figure is up 45% on that of the previous week and down 8% on that of the same week in 2017; it was down 1% on that of the same week in 2016. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 16.2,20 tonnes, down 15% on that of the same period in the previous year and 29% on that of the same period in 2016.
