This report covers the activity of salmon in Norway, focusing on aspects such as harvests, prices, markets and exports and imports.
1. EUROPE
1.1 Norway (Salmo salar)
Prices
During week 20, the average price of fresh salmon (Salmo salar) was NOK 65.48 (EUR 6.32/kg). This price is down 6% on that of the previous week and up 14% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was down 10% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 64.99 (EUR 6.24/kg), up 6% on that of the previous week and up 9% on that of the same week in 2018, it was down 1% on that of 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 16,127 tonnes. This figure is down 1% on that of the previous week and up 8% on that of the same week in 2018; it was up 24% on that of the same week in 2017. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 320,215 tonnes, up 2% in volume on that of the same period in 2018 and up 9% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 298 tonnes. This figure is up 24% on that of the previous week and down 2% on that of the same week in 2018; it was down 39% on that of the same week in 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 5,455 tonnes, down 10% on that of the same period in the previous year and 38% on that of the same period in 2017.
