Prices
At US Customs, the average price of Alaskan pollock surimi (Theragra chalcograma) (HS 0304991130) was USD 2.65/kg in September. This price is up 1% on that of August and 14% on that of September 2017. In the first nine months of the year, the price averaged USD 2.57/kg, up 11% on that of the same period in 2017.

Markets
During the month analysed, US exports of Alaskan pollock surimi reached 27,220 tonnes, worth USD 72,169,000, down 27% in volume and 26% in value on those of the previous month and down 1% in volume and up 12% in value on those of September 2016.

During the period, they totalled 168,908 tonnes and USD 433,507,000, up 2% in volume and 13% in value on those of the same period last year.

During the period, Japan was the destination of 67,589 tonnes, worth USD 171,608,000, followed by Korea with 62,868 tonnes.
