Panamei sources its products from suppliers and farms managed in a responsible manner and rely on competent national authorities that employ science-based management approaches to ensuring sustainable harvests.

In Chiapas, Mexico, Panamei explored the sustainable aquaculture farms that raise some of the world’s very best Tilapia and witnessed  first-hand the extremely intricate processes responsible for producing a product the company is proud to sell.

The company is amongst the few Meat and Seafood Importers/Distributors in the U.S to be SQF Certified at Level 2 in all Distribution Centers, as recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Panemei's 5 plants are BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) certified for Pangasius. MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) fisheries for clams, certified for the Bên Tre Province Fisherym. All of the company's Tilapia suppliers are BAP certified. 18 of its suppliers are certified for Processing (1 Star), and 12 are certified for Processing and Farming (2 stars). All of Panamei's suppliers are BAP Certified and 7 plants hold 2-star certifications. All of the company's seafood suppliers maintain records of third party audits for Food Safety based on GFSI Standards.

All of Panamei's Tilapia suppliers are BAP certified.
