(CHILE, 8/7/2018)
The news about the agreement reached for the purchase of 67 per cent of Empresas AquaChile S.A. by Agrosuper is causing a great impact on the Chilean stock market.
Agrosuper announced yesterday that the operation will materialize through a Public Acquisition Offer (OPA) for all the shares of the salmon company, in an operation that would reach USD 850 million.
On Monday, after the news became official, the shares of AquaChile rose more than 10 per cent on the Santiago Stock Exchange (BCS), ending at the end of the day with a daily appreciation of 9.51 per cent, when quoted at CLP 449, the highest value since June 2011. According to the data of the Exchange, transactions were made for CLP 865 million (USD 1.33 million).
The jump of AquaChile also dragged other companies in the salmon and fishing sector, which were among the 10 companies with the highest profits in Monday's operations.
After AquaChile, which was the salmon company whose shares rose the most, were Invermar, with a gain of 6.09 per cent, and Compañía Pesquera Camanchaca with a profit of 4.99 per cent.
