BigFish Launches New Delicious Fish Cakes

  (UNITED KINGDOM, 10/18/2018)

Everyone loves a good fish cake and BigFish has launched four brand new recipes made in Grimsby, UK. combining top quality fish fillet with chunky, locally-sourced Lincolnshire potatoes, all coated in a light crisp crumb. There are four delicious recipes to choose from: Salmon, Thai Salmon, Cod or Smoked Haddock.

According to Andrew Coulbeck, Founder and Managing Director of JCS Fish, “Breaded convenience products such as these fish cakes are bang on trend with consumer demand."

Andrew Coulbeck.

"Also, growth in frozen seafood continues to outpace that of chilled, so our new fish cake range is perfect for any retailer – big or small - looking for quality ‘fast fish’ solutions for the freezer cabinet," Coulbeck said.

“We’re also proud to have been able to put these cakes in a totally recyclable, plastic-free packaging solution as part of our company-wide drive towards less waste and more recyclability,” Coulbeck said.

BigFish Brand’s fish cake range is produced in Grimsby to the company’s own recipes.  Combining fish with locally-sourced ingredients, the fish cakes are fast-freeze to deliver all the fish’s natural freshness, flavour and nutritional value to your plate.

The new range includes:

In August 2018 JCS Fish achieved national distribution in Ocado, for its range of BigFish Brand Salmon Bites and Goujons. Now the new fish cakes range are available for purchase at the on-line retailer Ocado.

Louise Coulbeck, director of JCS Fish, said at the time, “We are delighted to have achieved national distribution with Ocado for these products, which takes salmon into the same territory as fish fingers and scampi.  Breaded products are very much part of a fast-growing consumer trend for ‘comfort’ foods, so this range is a great fit with the market.”

Andrew and Louise Coulbeck started JCS Fish in 2000, building on Andrew's long experience in the salmon business. From small beginnings the company has grown rapidly and now supplies a comprehensive range of salmon products to its foodservice, catering and wholesale customers.  JCS Fish also sell to retail under its own award-winning BigFish Brand™.
