Subject: Peru - Offer - Peruvian Omega 3 present at the most important fair of nutritional ingredients and supplements
Message:
The Peruvian company Tecnológica de Alimentos TASA, the world’s leading
producer and exporter of fishmeal and fish oil, was an outstanding participant at
the SupplySide West Fair, considered the most important of the nutritional
ingredients and supplements sector in the United States, mainly oriented
towards the nutraceutical industry.
The event took place between September 25 and 29 in Las Vegas and
assembled 15,000 visitors and more than 1,200 exhibiting companies.
TASA took advantage of the occasion to position Peruvian Omega 3 oil for
human consumption as a product of great nutritional value, due to its high
content of EPA and DHA fatty acids, which have proven effects in the
prevention of various coronary diseases, inflammatory diseases and the
strengthening of the development and good functioning of the brain in children
and adolescents.
It should be mentioned that Peru is the world’s leading and most reliable source
of Omega 3 for human consumption, with around 70% of the production of
crude fish oil.
Since 2015, TASA has had a commercial office in the United States, which has
enabled it to gain access to the major brands, which produce mainly
nutraceutical products, in order to identify their needs and provide them with a
more agile and direct service, developing products of higher added value. The
effort has begun to produce results. The company plans to sell this year
between 1,800 and 2,000 tons of refined oil, compared to the 600 tons which it
sold in 2016. Peru currently produces and exports 15,000 tons of refined oil,
which is equivalent to a little more than 30% of the world production.
"We are very satisfied with our participation in this fair, which has served to
develop a business agenda with potential buyers, and has contributed to
continuing to position Omega 3 oil derived from the Peruvian anchovy for direct
human consumption in the North American market", pointed out Rick Pope,
TASA’s Sales Manager for the United States.
Rick Pope also emphasized, that TASA is recognized worldwide for being a
company which operates under the highest standards of respect for the
environment and carries out sustainable business practices in order to ensure
the preservation of the environment. “We comply with the strictest levels of
international quality in all stages of the production process, from the catch until
the marketing of the products, always operating under the highest standards.
That makes us one of the most sustainable fishing companies in the world”,
concluded Rick Pope.
