Message:
Are you interested in research and innovation in the fisheries and seafood
industry? In that case, you should pay a visit to the Research Plaza at Nor-Fishing
2018 in August!
Eight research and innovation institutions have pooled their resources to created a
Research Plaza in Hall T at Nor-Fishing 2018. The Research Plaza will be
officially opened by Norway’s Minister of Fisheries Per Sandberg on Tuesday 21st
August – the first day of Nor-Fishing 2018.
The Research Plaza will be easy to discover in Hall T. Everybody interested in
research and innovation will know where to go, and will not need to look long for
all the different institutions in different halls. At the Research Plaza the research
and innovation expertise within fisheries and seafood, management and
technology will be found in one place.
During the exhibition, there will be numerous mini-seminars at the institutions’
stands at the Research Plaza (see separate programme on Nor-Fishing’s web
page www.nor-fishing.no). A number of important issues will be discussed, such
as fishing technology, vessel technology, ocean environment, sustainability, bio-
economy, processing technology, seafood markets and quality.
The seminars will last 30 – 40 minutes and consist of several short presentations
from research and business to illustrate the themes. The purpose of the Research
Plaza is to provide a meeting place for discussions and exchange of experience
about research and innovation. Visitors will also have to possibility of meeting
researchers for individual discussions.
The Research Plaza – Research and Innovation is a cooperation between the
Institute of Marine Research, Nofima, Sintef/NTNU, University of Troms - Norway's
Arctic University, The Norwegian Seafood Research Fund, Innovation Norway,
and the Norwegian Research Council. In previous years, these institutions have all
had their individual stands at Nor-Fishing. The Research Plaza can be found at
stand T-153 B.
