Frozen mackerel, 75% imports from Norway

In October 2020, frozen mackerel imports decreased 0.5% from 835 tons in the previous year to 831 tons, while cumulative imports in October increased 5% from 29,868 tons in the previous year to 31,497 tons.
In the last six years (from 2015 to 2020), the average import volume in October was 396 tons, up 110 % from 831 tons in October this year.
The most important exporting frozen mackerel countries are eight including Norway, Russia, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Iceland, while October cumulative imports were 23,713 tons from Norway, 5,191 tons from Russia, 2,246 tons from China, 158 tons from Taiwan, 90 tons from Japan and 75 tons from South Korea.
The average unit price per country was the highest at USD 2.05/kg in Norway and the lowest at USD 0.80/kg in Russia.
In October 2020, frozen mackerel imports amounted to USD 1.7 million, up 19 % from USD 1.43 million a year earlier, and the average unit price of imported mackerel is USD 2.04/kg, up 19 % from USD 1.71/kg in the previous year.
