Marine Harvest revenue falls 11.6pct in second quarter

Marine Harvest achieved an operating EBIT of EUR 175 million in the second quarter of 2018, a figure that represents a fall of 11.6 per cent with respect to the EUR 198 million obtained in the same period of 2017.
The total volume of salmon harvests totalled 78,500 tonnes (eviscerated weight equivalent) in the analyzed quarter, 3,500 tonnes less than the 82,000 tonnes harvests estimated for this period when it published the results for the first quarter of 2018.
The harvest volumes obtained in the second quarter of this year in the different countries where the Norwegian group operates were:

Marine Harvest also reported that operating EBIT per kg through the value chain was approximately as detailed below for the main sources of origin:
- Norway: EUR 2.55
- Scotland: EUR 2.35
- Canada: EUR 1.00
- Chile: EUR 1.85
- Ireland: EUR 2.20
- Faroe Islands: EUR 2.90
The net interest bearing debt (NIBD) was approximately EUR 955 million at the end of the quarter.
Northern Harvest is consolidated in the group's financial statements as of July 3, so the above figures do not include this company.
Marine Harvest will present a full report on the results of the second quarter of 2018 on August 22.
