Cameron SA, a subsidiary of Salmones Blumar, has just presented to the Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) a request to build and implement a processing plant for its entire salmon production in the southern region.
It should be remembered that in 2014, Blumar SA bought 100 per cent of the shares of Acuicola Riverfish SpA and its subsidiary Cameron SA, which had assets for salmon production in the Magallanes region, with the aim of projecting its operation to that area.

This project was completed through the new subsidiary Bluriver, which in August of this year began its stocking activities.
If the construction of the plant is approved, and according to the schedule foreseen, the productive unit would be able to fulfill its functions in 2020.
The project aims at a production of 2,625 tonnes per month of finished product in two lines of fresh and frozen fillet process, and HON fresh and frozen whole product, starting from 3,500 monthly tonnes of raw material. The finished product will be packed and shipped to the different target markets.

The process plant will be located in the urban sector of the city of Punta Arenas and will require an investment of USD 24 million.
"The processing plant is an essential piece in an integral project of the company, which will allow Bluriver to count gradually with the entire salmon production chain in Magallanes, that is to say, fish farming (fresh water cycle), farming centres (sea water cycle) and processing plant," they said from the company, according to El Mercurio.
