As part of its environmental policy, Pesquera Hayduk will change its energy matrix to natural gas at its Coishco plant in Chimbote. Before the end of the year, this factory will work 100 per cent with this fuel, considered one of the most environmentally friendly ones.
The project will require an approximate investment of USD 1.5 million in the construction of a natural gas reception station and the renewal of equipment, according to the National Fisheries Society (SNP). The service will be provided by the company Quavii - Gases of the Pacific, responsible for the massification of natural gas in the north of the country.
"We are proud to announce this project that will positively impact the quality of life of our Coishco neighbours and will also increase the efficiency of the processes, since it means less wear and tear on equipment. We want to replicate this initiative in the plants we have in Huacho and Trujillo in the coming years," said José Arriola, general manager of Hayduk, which is one of the companies associated with the SNP.
With this project, Hayduk ratifies its permanent search for the continuous improvement of its operations as well as its social and environmental commitment, minimizing greenhouse gases and thus contributing to the improvement of the life quality of inhabitants of the Chimbo community.
