A total of 3,500 tons of tuna, from the African continent, were landed at the Paita naval station for the production of more than 9,000 daily boxes of canned food for sale in national and South American markets.
William Rivera, director of the CITE Pesquero Piura, highlighted the work of the northern company Seafrost SAC, who have carried out the importation and unloading and will be in charge of the processing of this raw material high in Omega 3 and vitamins A, and D.

Rivera Peña reported that Seafrost has been working on the creation of an area of research, development and innovation (R + D + i) to develop new products.
"We hope that in the future the thesis students who articulate with the CITE will be able to carry out their research in this important company," said the official.

For his part, Baruch Byrne Antezana, SeaFrost's operations manager, assured that this fact is transcendental for the region because it means that the Peruvian tuna industry is reaching high levels of production, with the highest international quality standards.
It should be noted that Seafrost made its first tuna unloading five years ago with the amount of 1,000 tons, later 2,000 tons in 2019, now, it managed to surpass its own record, placing the Peruvian tuna industry among the best internationally.
