NORWAY
Monday, April 19, 2021, 20:30 (GMT + 9)
First registrations from the sandeel fishery and first mackerel catch reported for fresh use
Blue whiting
This week, there have been two vessels working west of the sea in the EU zone, which reported a total of 1940 tonnes. The fishing is mostly considered finished.
If you bring blue whiting from the edge fishing, we have a total of 3996 tonnes registered this week.
Sandeels
Since the fishing started, we have had three registrations totaling 1540 tonnes. In addition to a registration from the experimental fishery in advance of 35 tonnes, respectively.
Since the fishing started, the vessels have been in the Inner Shoal and Klondyke, but the fleet has now gathered at the Outer Shoal. There are currently 22 vessels in the field.
The fishing has been a bit slow, where we have had some better hauls than others. But we expect some registrations during the day and the next few days. Slightly worse weather is also expected from Wednesday-Thursday and north winds that can disrupt fishing.
Fresh mackerel
This week we also received the first registrations for mackerel for fresh use. A catch from the Bømlo area of 450 kg and one from Alver municipality of 200 kg. The average of the mackerel is reported at 450 grams.
Horse mackerel
There have been two or three vessels on the horse mackerel and we have received three registrations of a total of 30 tonnes from Kinn municipality.
Industrial trawl
Edge fishing has had its first run this week. We have had five entries with a total of 2056 tonnes of blue whiting, 11 tonnes of North Sea herring, 194 tonnes of current herring, 20 silver cod and 8 tonnes of eye pole. At the moment there is a small break in this fishing as most people are fishing for sandeel.
