So far in 2019, Korea and Japan are the main destinations for surimi exports

At US Customs, the average price of Alaskan pollock surimi (Theragra chalcograma) (HS 0304991130) was USD 2.70/kg in February. This price is up 8% on that of January and 6% on that of February 2018. In the bimester the average price the price averaged USD 2.70/kg, up 7% on that of the same period in 2018.

Markets

During the month analysed, US exports of Alaskan pollock surimi reached 17,562 tonnes, worth USD 47,409,000, down 16% in volume and 11% in value on those of the previous month.

In the two-month period exports reached 17,964 tonnes for USD 48.16,000, 17% less in volume and 12% less in value than in the previous year.

During the period, Korea was the destination of 9,967 tonnes, worth USD 28,286,346, followed by Japan with 4,854 tonnes.
