The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz (APBC) has granted the firm Epic Aqua Solea Acuicultura SL an administrative permission for the construction of the first phase of an intensive sole farming centre in the zone having public port domain in El Puerto de Santa Maria.
The fish farm will be located on a plot of 35,000 square meters on the left bank of the river Guadalete, at its mouth, and its complete installation will be developed in seven phases.
According to APBC, in the first stage of the project the company plans to build two fattening facilities of 5,200 square metres each, a hatchery of 2,916 square metres, offices and warehouses, with an initial investment of more than USD 3.2 million.
The administrative permit is granted for a term of 35 years.
The APBC highlighted that this project joins the port aquaculture cluster in which other companies such as Futuna Blue, Fitoplankton Marino and Fundacion Ctaqua already form part.
