Pelagia AS and the food manufacturer COFCO Premier Foods, located in Shanghai, China, have partnered to collaboratively introduce the high quality mackerel from Pelagia to the Chinese population.

As the Pelagia Mackerel is not familiar to Chinese consumers, the corporation decided to include activities to provide information about the products many uses and benefits as part of the healthy and tasty diet. Some of the activities includes inviting food enthusiasts to know the brand and background of the mackerel.

One of these activities will take place at the seafood show held in Qingdao, where the COFCO team will use a grill to cook delicious Pelagia mackerel fillets for professional visitors.

Pelagia produces pelagic fish products for human consumption, and an important supplier of essential ingredients in all kinds of fish- and animal feed; protein concentrate, fishmeal, and fish oil.

Through its company Epax, it produces concentrated marine-based omega-3 fatty acids for dietary supplement and pharmaceutical preparations.

The company operates 27 factories in Norway, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Denmark. Twenty-three of the factories are 100 per cent owned while three are partly owned associates.

The food division exports close to 100 per cent of its products, while feed’s products are mainly sold in the domestic market as essential ingredients in fish- and animal feed production.

Austevoll Seafood ASA and Kvefi AS own Pelagia in a 50/50 share split.
