The regional head of Agriculture, Miguel Angel del Amor, stressed that these projects are in line with the objectives of the strategy approved by the Ministry and "have in common facilitating the socioeconomic dynamism of the coast, generating an investment in the coastal municipalities of the Region of EUR 558,911. "
He also added that "together with the contributions of other structural and investment funds of the European Union, these aids concentrate in these areas of the territory economic resources that encourage the maintenance of local coastal communities."
Among the 38 projects approved for the entire regional coast are the acquisition of boats for tourist uses linked to the fishing sector, the assembly of video surveillance systems in port areas, auxiliary facilities in a microalgae production plant, acquisition of materials for the promotion of fishing and the Mar Menor, creation of web pages, as well as various materials for the promotion of marine tourism in Mazarrón or the start-up of a flake ice factory in the fishing market of Cabo de Palos.
The aid granted falls within the priority 4 of the EMFF, with the aim of increasing territorial cohesion, promoting economic growth, social inclusion, job creation, and favoring employment and labor mobility between sectors belonging to the communities coastal.
Among the aid beneficiaries are the fishermen's associations of Águilas and Cartagena, individuals and companies such as Seaworld Pinatar, Pescados y Salazones de Mazarrón Sociedad Cooperativa and Águilas Servicios Turísticos S.L., among others.
During this year there will be a new call that will allow a continuity in the implementation of the Participatory Local Development Strategy of Galpemur, which will also have the character of pluriannual, which will allow a better adaptation of the projects to the execution times that they need, within the framework of 2019 and 2020.
