Atlantic salmon exports (Salmo salar): Prices and markets W40

During week 40, the average price of fresh salmon (Salmo salar) was NOK 46.83 (EUR 4.69/kg). This price is down 2% on that of the previous week and 19% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was down 17% according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 56.45 (EUR 5.65/kg), up 4% than the price of the previous week and down 4% than the same week of 2018, being 6% lower than 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 21,618 tonnes. This figure is down 5% on that of the previous week and up 8% on that of the same week in 2018; it was up 14% on that of the same week in 2017. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 698,815 tonnes, up 5% in volume on that of the same period in 2018 and up 14% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 1,201 tonnes. This figure is 14% higher than in the previous week and 264% in the same week of 2018, growing 154% in relation to the same week of 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 15,072 tonnes, up 11% on that of the same period in the previous year and down 5% on that of the same period in 2017.
