At US Customs, the average price of Alaskan pollock surimi (Gadus chalcogrammus) (HS 0304991130) was USD 2.72/kg in August. This price is 1% higher than April and 3% higher than August 2018. In the first eight months of the year, the price averaged USD 2.75/kg, up 8% on that of the same period in 2018.

Markets
During the month analysed, US exports of Alaska pollock surimi reached 33,061 tonnes, worth USD 89,757,000, 140% higher
in volume and 143% in value, and 11% less in volume and 8% in value on those of the previous month.

In the period, exports reached 128,226 tonnes worth USD 352,518,000, 2% less in volume and 7% more in value than in the previous year.

So far this year, Japan has been destined for 32,250 tonnes for USD 87,412,000, followed by Korea with 30,560 tonnes.
