Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) is pleased to announce that French fish oils producer OLVEA has become SFP’s newest Target 75 Champion.
The quality of the fish used in the production of Olvea oils is compliant with a rigorous sustainability management policy
Target 75 Champions have made a specific commitment to support SFP’s Target 75 initiative, which has set the goal of seeing 75 percent or more of global seafood volumes in key sectors being produced in a manner classified as sustainable or improving toward sustainability by 2020. Champions join SFP partners in supporting Target 75 and SFP’s broader mission to engage and catalyze global seafood supply chains in rebuilding depleted fish stocks and reducing the environmental impacts of fishing and fish farming.
“Fish oils are key to different markets and products, from pet food and aquaculture feed to pharmaceutical and dietary supplements,” said Carmen González-Vallés, buyer engagement manager at SFP. “That is why the engagement of companies such as OLVEA is essential to ensure the sustainability of the raw materials used.”
OLVEA operates factories in France and Morocco and storage facilities in Mauritania. OLVEA was the promoter and first stakeholder of the ongoing small pelagics FIP in Mauritania.
“We are continually investing in the quality of our products, the satisfaction of our customers, and our commitment to sustainable development,” said Arnauld Daudruy, president of OLVEA. “We are proud to be a Target 75 Champion.”
