Nireus Aquaculture S.A., member of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), has been certified by TÜV Austria Hellas, the Organization of Inspection and Certification, according to the requirements of the Private Certification Standard “Fish from Greece”, owned by HAPO, which concerns sustainable aquaculture and the promotion of high-quality Greek fish.
With the acquisition of the Fish from Greece certification, Nireus can produce and supply sea bream, sea bass, meagre and pagrus with the tag “Fish from Greece”.
Greek aquaculture production and ‘Fish from Greece’ are characterized by guaranteed freshness and certified high omega-3 fatty acids content.

One of the specific characteristics of the certification that makes it special is that, besides the annual supervisory audits required to maintain its validity, there will also be unannounced inspections conducted by independent organizations in order to ensure compliance with the six main pillars defined in the protocol:
