By October 2019, the total amount of seafood imported from India to Korea was 3,742 tons, up about 3% from 3,629 tons in the same period last year.
The total amount of imports from all countries was 818,608 tons, of which 3,742 tons were imported from India, accounting for 0.5% of the total imports.
The imports and statistics of major fishes imported from India are as follows:
Frozen freshwater shrimp imports 1,140 tons, up about 79% from 634 tons in the same period last year.
Frozen whiteleg shrimp imports 1,105 tons, up about 12% from 983 tons in the same period last year.
Frozen grouper was imported 718 tons, up about 67% from 429 tons a year ago,
Frozen crabs was 224 tons, up about 117% from 103 tons in the same period last year.
As reference, the average import price of frozen freshwater shrimp with the highest import volume in India is imported at USD 3.28/kg
