Fish processing plant inaugurated in San Antonio Oeste

A new fish processing plant has been inaugurated in the city of San Antonio Oeste, Río Negro, an enterprise that will employ 60 workers, including filleters, stevedores, administrators and operators with different functions.

This is brothers Juan Manuel and Santiago Poliglieddu´s new plant, Cooperativa 16 de Abril, which is mainly engaged in shrimp fishing, but works all year with the species that inhabit the San Matías Gulf.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Nation´s Undersecretary of Fisheries, Juan Bosch, and the governor of Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, as well as the mayor of San Antonio Oeste and other municipal, provincial and business officials of the area.
The factory has a surface of 5000 square meters and 1500 meters covered
"This plant will be in a position to export, it is a source of pride for the national fishery, from the Government's Secretariat of Agribusiness we accompany this great initiative that makes all Argentines proud because we must continue working for the modernization of this productive sector", highlighted Bosch in the opening.

During the ceremony, it was highlighted that since 1995 a seafood company with these characteristics was not inaugurated in the Industrial Park in the San Matías gulf.
The factory, with 5,000 m2 of surface and 1,500 m2 covered, has a fresh fish chamber for the reception of the vessels´ raw material, a main building for 60 filleting positions, an ice silo with a machine whose production is estimated at 20 tonnes of flake ice per day, two freezing tunnels of 5,000 kilos each, and a cold capacity to freeze 30,000 kilos per day.
