The CEO of Grupo Nueva Pescanova CEO, Ignacio González, and the managing director of Isidro 1952, Pablo Ángel García-Gascó, have signed a collaboration agreement for the exclusive commercialization during the next five years of two of the aquaculture products that Isidro 1952 cultivates: turbot and sea bream.
Isidro 1952, which has more than 60 years in the fisheries sector, has the only sea bream aquaculture farms in the world, located in the towns of Valdoviño (egg laying and fingerlings) and Lorbé (breeding and fattening ), both in A Coruña, Galicia.
Isidro 1952 fish farms
Through this alliance, Isidro 1952 will continue with its own aquaculture activities, and Grupo Nueva Pescanova will be responsible for the distribution and commercialization of the farmed sea bream that it produces, maintaining the name "Besugo de Galicia" (Sea Bream from Galicia).
The agreement extends in the same line to turbot: aquaculture activities in charge of Isidro 1952 and commercialization under the Nueva Pescanova Group.
With this agreement, the Nueva Pescanova Group reinforces its position in the turbot market, in which the company has an annual production of 3,000 tonnes in its two plants of Insuiña, a company specialized in the breeding, fattening and processing of turbot.
In addition to these two species, Isidro 1952 also farms and markets white and salmon trout.
