CPF aquatic business generated USD 2.4 billion in sales revenue in 2018.

Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC (CPF), one of the world’s leading agro-industrial and food conglomerates, obtained THB 541,937 million (USD 17,353 million) in sales revenue last year, 8 percent more that in 2017.

The company highlighted that the contribution of operations abroad was 67 percent and that its net profit was THB 15,531 million (USD 497.3 million).
Sooksunt Jiumjaiswanglerg, Chief Executive Officer for agro-industrial business and Co-President of CPF, explainad that CPF’s sales revenue based on Thai currency grew 12 percent year on year.
He also said that they expect sales to continue by 8- and 10 percent in 2019, thanks to continued growth in overseas operations following the expansion in aquatic and non-aquatic businesses.
According to Sukhawat Dansermsuk, Chief Executive Officer for food business and Co-President of CPF, the company, driven by deep changes in consumer behaviors, is putting emphasiz in research and development to introduce food products that satisfy the palates of consumers in various countries, with quality raw materials throughout the production chain, and environmental-friendly packaging.
These strategies will be complimented by distribution channels, and that´s why the company has teamed up with HiLai Group, based in Taiwan, to open a seafood buffet restaurant at Iconsiam.
For his part, Sujint Thammasart (DVM), Chief Operating Officer for Aqua-Business, explained that the outbreak of Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) and localized diseases like EHS in several Asian countries has motivated the Company to expand its aquatic production base.

At present, the aquatic business is located in 8 countries: Thailand, China, Vietnam, Indian, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brazil and the United States. In 2018, the aquatic business generated THB 74,513 million (USD 2,386 million) in sales revenue, and CPF pretends to rise them 15% in 2019. As a consequence, the group expects to see a growth in net profits, particularly in operations in Thailand.
