South Korean imports of frozen cuttlefish

Frozen cuttlefish imports fell by 35% in December
A total of 1,218,013 tons of fishery products were imported in December 2022, and 4,432 tons, or 0.39%, of frozen cuttlefish were imported, and in the case of 2021 of the previous year, 2,116 tons were imported, accounting for 0.19% of 1,131,280 tons.
Frozen cuttlefish imports in December were 304 tons, down 44% from the previous year's 544 tons, and cumulative imports were 4,432 tons, down 9% from the previous year's 4,869 tons.
The average import volume in December from 2017 to 2022 is 413 tons, and the cumulative import volume over the past six years is the highest at 4,869 tons in 2021 and the lowest at 3,716 tons in 2017.
There are 11 main exporting countries for frozen cuttlefish, with Vietnam exporting 62.5%, or 2,771 tons, followed by Thailand with 514 tons, Indonesia with 405 tons and Somalia with 317 tons.
As for the import unit price by country, Thailand had the highest unit price at USD 8.68/Kg, Vietnam USD 5.00/Kg, Indonesia USD 6.38/Kg, Somalia USD 3.52/Kg, and Mauritania USD 1.08/kg at the lowest unit price.
Frozen cuttlefish imports in December were USD 1.96 million, down 35% from USD 3.01 million the previous year, and the cumulative import amount was USD 27.51 million, up 1% from USD 27.28 million the previous year.
The import unit price in December was USD 6.46/Kg, showing a 17% increase from USD 5.54/Kg in the previous year.
