The Alaska pollock fishery is the LARGEST SUSTAINABLE FISHERY in the United States
The first quarter shows an increase in exports of Alaska pollock surimi from the US

At US Customs, the average price of Alaskan pollock surimi (Theragra chalcograma) (HS 0304991130) was USD 2.79/kg in March. This price is up 4% on that of February and 11% on that of January 2018. In the quarter the price averaged USD 2.76 / kg, 9% more than in 2018.

During the month analysed, US exports of Alaskan pollock surimi reached 35,333 tonnes, worth USD 98,724,000, up 101% in volume and 108% in value on those of the previous month and up 35% in volume and up 50% in value than those of March of last year.

In the quarter, exports reached 53,297 tonnes for USD 147,140,000, 11% more in volume and 22% in value than in the previous year.

So far this year, Korea has been destined for 25,432 tonnes for USD 72,665,000, followed by Japan with 18,069 tonnes.
