A fish processing plant at Baltimore in west Cork is to be subjected to carry out a forensic examination after having been badly damaged by fire.
The blaze that started on Wednesday at the Ilen Seafoods plant on the Oldcourt to Balimore Road broke out shortly, RTE reported.
Ten units of the Cork County Fire Service brought the blaze under control, but it has extensively damaged the fish processing building and nearby equipment and vans.
According to reports of the local press, the factory employs around 30 seasonal workers.
All employees were evacuated and there are no reports of any injuries.
A nearby primary school at Rath was also evacuated as a precaution.
