Official data of catfish, panga o basa fillets imports

The average CIF price of catfish fillets –basa and panga- imported in April was USD 4,466/t, down 9 percent on that of February and up 7 percent on that of April 2018. In the first four months, the average was USD 4,899/t, up 24 percent on that of the same period last year.

In April, incoming volumes of frozen catfish fillets -basa and panga- reported 2,597 tonnes, worth CIF USD 11,597,000, down 43 percent in volume and 49 percent in value on those imported in the previous month, and down 57 percent in volume and 54 percent in value on those of April 2018.

In the first four-month period of the year, catfish fillets imports totalled 22,956 tonnes worth USD 112,468,000, down 7 percent in volume and 15 percent in value than in the previous year. Vietnam was the supplier of 22,375 tonnes while China was the source of 579 tonnes.
