Nodosa Shipyard launched the trawler Montelourido that will operate in Falkland Islands

The Montelourido is a freezer trawler specialized in catching loligo squid for the Falkland Islands fishing ground
It is the second order from Rampesca to the same shipyard in Marín, which delivery the Monteferro that was incorporated into the joint venture, Kalamar, which operated with the Castelo and the smallest, Kalatxori, replaced by the Monteferro in 2017.
With 63.70 meters length by 12 beams, it will be equipped again with the latest equipment and systems to make it a benchmark in its sector ►
Based on the Monteferro experience, both the crew and the shipowners have provided novel details to achieve greater adaptation to the fishing ground, while reaffirming themselves in all those that have allowed them to obtain such good results. The set of the latter includes the design of the inverted bow, which has given them such a good experience, especially in rough seas.
In addition, the new btrawler, with the temporary difference in hiring compared to the first, will logically benefits from the innovations that have appeared in the market in between, putting special emphasis again on all those that result in comfort for the crew, environmental respect and energy efficiency. Thus, with 63.70 meters in length by 12 in beam, it is equipped with the latest equipment and systems to make it a benchmark in its sector.
The new ship will belong to the company Ferralemes LTD, formed by the companies Rampesca and the FK RBC and will replace the Castelo, which is over 30 years old.
The owner of the latter, Tom Blake, is the owner of the longliner CFL Hunter, also built by Nodosa and delivered in 2017.
