Imported frozen Pollock up 26.27% and roe 23.3% compared to the previous year

In the first six months of 2020, 459,538MT of fishery products were imported to Korea, with USD 1.96 billion.
Compared to the same import volume of 501,987MT in 2019, the import volume decreased by 8% and the import amount fell by 9% to USD 2.17 billion
The major fish species that imports increased by June 2020,
Frozen Alaska Pollack imported 78,224M/T up 26.27% from a year earlier.
In the case of frozen Mackerel, 25,020M/T were imported, an increase of 2.47% year-on-year.
11,947M/T of frozen Alaska Pollack Roe were imported, an increase of 23.3% over the first six months of 2019
On the other hand, the major fish species that imports have declined,
16,912M/T of frozen squid were imported, down 18.1% from a year earlier.
11,745M/T of frozen Baby Octopus were imported, down 13.1% from June 2019.
Imports of frozen Monkfish, live clams and frozen Poulp Squid also fell slightly.
