The suburbs of Moscow will be engaged in the cultivation of Atlantic salmon

In the Moscow region, the Aqua Group Enterprise is implementing a project for the cultivation of salmon fish in closed-loop installations RAS for Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout and silverfish. A factory with a production capacity of 5 thousand tons of fish per year will be located on the territory of the Kashira special economic zone”, said Andrei Razin, head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Region.

According to the minister, the project’s investment will amount to 4 billion rubles. “At present, the company has leased a land plot. The design of the first launch complex for 2.5 thousand tons of finished products per year is at the final stage. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the 4th quarter of this year”, said Andrei Razin. The commissioning of a plant for growing Atlantic salmon is scheduled for August 2021“. Salmon species of fish are now grown in Russia mainly in open reservoirs and cage farms, which determines the seasonality of trout, this is September-December. Growing aquaculture in closed loop installations will ensure stable shipment of products to residents of the Moscow Region, regardless of the season”, added Andrei Razin. After the commissioning of the plant, more than 100 jobs will be created.
