Official data on markets and prices of Atlantic salmon exports

During week 32, the average price of fresh salmon (Salmo Salar) was NOK 54.45 (EUR 5.46/kg). This price is up 1% on that of the previous week and down 5% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was down 9% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 59.07 (EUR 5.93/kg), 6% lower than the price of the previous week and 1% higher than the same week of 2018, being 6% lower than 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 19,035 tonnes. This figure is down 2% on that of the previous week and similar on that of the same week in 2018; it was 10% higher on that of the same week in 2017. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 529,515 tonnes, up 2% on that of the same period in 2018 and 13% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 521 tonnes. This figure is 8% higher than in the previous week and 32% in the same week of 2018, growing 167% in relation to the same week of 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 9,611 tonnes, down 7% on that of the same period in the previous year and 24% on that of the same period in 2017.
