In the Far East, the catch of pelagic fish is 168.8% higher than previous year

At a regular meeting of the Federal Agency for Fishery Headquarters for catching pelagic fish species in the Far East, the results of the catch by Russian vessels as of August 9 were summed up.
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Fisheries Monitoring System and Communications" (FGBU TsSMS), the total catch of iwashi sardine and mackerel by Russian vessels as of August 9 totaled 79.5 thousand tons, which is 47.41 thousand tons higher than the level 2019 (168.8%).
In the Russian EEZ, the catch is 64.5 thousand tons, which is 34 thousand tons higher than the level of 2019 (189.7%), 2.67 thousand tons were mined in the open sea, 12.4 thousand tons were mined in the Japanese EEZ.
The main share of the catch for the current period is Iwashi sardine - 65.5 thousand tons, which is 35.6 thousand tons more than the level of 2019, the catch of mackerel is 14.03 thousand tons, which is 12.96 thousand tons more than the level of 2019 tons. The catch of saury is just over 13 tons.
According to the FGBU TsSMS, in the period from 3 to 9 August, 17 fishing vessels of the fishing fleet of the Russian Federation carried out the fishery for pelagic fish species, all in the EEZ of Russia.
