Previously, the price of a ton of deep-sea crab ranged from 132 thousand to 150 thousand rubles
MOSCOW / TASS /. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the reduction of the starting prices when holding auctions for catching deep-sea crab species. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the government.
"Shares in production quotas are distributed between fishing companies at open tenders held by the Federal Agency for Fishery. Previously, the price of a ton of deep-sea crab ranged from 132 thousand rubles to 150 thousand rubles. Now it is fixed at 54,199 rubles," message.
It is noted that changes in the prices of quotas relate to the catch of the red snow crab and the angulatus snow crab. It is also clarified that participation in the auction assumes that the company, which received the right to production, must invest in the construction of a crab catcher at Russian shipyards.
The measure to reduce prices is aimed at increasing the availability of quotas for the production of crab, noted in the press service of the government.

On August 5, the Russian Fishery Company (RFC) sent proposals to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on reforming the fishing industry, which said that the industry's main problem is an outdated fleet. The company proposed to provide 100% of the capacity of the fleet under construction with investment quotas, as well as to increase the share of fish quotas provided for investment purposes from 20% to 50%. In addition, the remaining 50% of the crab quotas must be submitted to the auctions with investment commitments. In October 2019, crab auctions were held to distribute 50% of quotas for the extraction of a valuable aquatic biological resource.
