The total volume of aquatic bioresources surpasses 3.6 million tons, driven by performance in the Far East and a digital modernization that strengthens the sector.
MOSCÚ — Russia's fishing industry has reported a significant increase in its catch volumes. According to the Fisheries Monitoring and Communications Center, the total catch of aquatic bioresources by all Russian users has reached 3,654.2 thousand tons. This growth is largely due to the strong production in the vast waters of the Far East, which remains the main engine of the nation's fishing sector.

Digital Transformation Drives Efficiency
This success in catches is supported by the continuous technological modernization of the sector. Since 2023, the "Electronic Fishing Log" program has been fundamental to optimizing data collection, allowing 100% of catch information to be transmitted digitally. Additionally, Russia is close to completing the transition to using its own satellite constellations to monitor the location of fishing vessels, a strategic step that reinforces the industry's independence and security in the face of geopolitical tensions.

International Performance and Growth Prospects
Outside its borders, the Russian fleet has also shown strong performance. In the exclusive economic zones of other states, as well as in conventional areas and the open part of the World Ocean, production has increased by 10.4% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 401.5 thousand tons. This performance in international waters underscores the resilience and expansion of the Russian industry. In a context of growing global demand for seafood and a strategic focus on technology and self-sufficiency, Russia's fishing sector is positioned for sustained growth in the coming years.
