Standard Norway ( SN ) is a Norwegian private member organization that carries out standardization tasks in all areas except electrical engineering, which is handled by the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee and telecommunications, which is handled by the National Communications Authority. Membership in Standard Norway is open to companies, organisations, authorities and others. Standard Norge is based at Lilleaker in Oslo.
History
Standard Norway was founded on 24 June 2003, but with roots going back to the establishment of the Norwegian Standardization Association in 1923.
Business
Standard Norway has the exclusive right to determine and publish the Norwegian Standard and is the Norwegian member of the European standardization organization CEN and the international standardization organization ISO . Standard Norge has its own subsidiary, Standard Online, which sells standards and related products. Standard Norge has 80% of the shares in Standard Online , the other 20% is owned by Norsk Elektroteknisk Komite.
