Herring (Clupea harengus)
Prices
In the first half of the year Norway exported 68,804 tonnes of coastal frozen small herring, for a FOB value of EUR 46,828,000, 38% more in volume and 50% more in value than what was exported in the same period of the previous year.
The average FOB price was EUR 680 per tonne, 8% higher than in the same period of 2018.

Markets
Egypt was the main destination of the product, importing 23,655 tonnes for EUR 23,663,000, 78% more in volume and 76% in value than in the same period 2018.

On the other hand, North Sea herring exports in the semester total 15,579 tonnes worth EUR 15,679, at an average FOB price of EUR 1.01, 5% less in volume and 1% less in value than in the same period of the last year.
