Herring roes

Prices

The average price of salted herring roes imports (HS 030520010) was JPY 1,090/kg in June, up 16% on that previous monthy and down 27% on that of June 2018. During the first six months, it averaged JPY 1,013/kg, down 20% on that of the same period in the previous year.

Markets

Imports of salted of herring roes (or dried), HS 030520010, reached 666 tonnes in the month analysed, worth JPY 726 million CIF at Japanese Customs, up 266% in volume and 325% in value than that imported in May and down 23% in volume and 44% in value on those of June 2018.

In the month of June 360 ​​tonnes entered from Canada, at an average price of JPY 1,274/kg and 120 from the Netherlands, at USD 837/kg.

In the semester, imports totalled 1,,44 tonnes and JPY 1,160 million, down 38% in volume and 50% less in value on those of the same period in 2018.

The main supplier of herring roes of HS 030520010 was Canada during the period, with 488 tonnes and JPY 610 million.
