Inventories / landed volumes
Spain
On the wholesale market of Mercabarna, during August, supplies of frozen bottomfish species dropped by 26%, i.e. almost 1,000 tonnes. The most important drops in volumes were registered in fresh national angler, fresh sole, fresh longline hake, fresh sea trout below 500 g, fresh import angler and fresh megrim. Fewer species registered a rise in volumes and those with the most significant ones were: fresh national longline hake, fresh wild seabream, fresh wild seabass, frozen hake slices, frozen sole and frozen cod.
On the wholesale market of Mercamadrid, incoming volumes of frozen products rose by 44 tonnes in August. The most important ones were those in pollock, cod, halibut, skin-on hake fillets, hake number 5 and skin-on whole sole. The most significant drops in frozen products were those in panga, seabream and sea trout.
Those of fresh species declined by 44 tonnes. The most remarkable drops were those in Chilean hake, longline hake, sea trout, small megrim and conger. The most important increases were registered in Gran Sol hake, angler, medium and large megrim and medium and small sole.
