The average CIF price of frozen bluefin (HS 030345000 and 030346000) imported by Japan in July was JPY 1,417/kg, down 47% on that of June and up 2% on that of July 2017. During the seven months, the average was JPY 1,564/kg, up 30% on that of the same period in the previous year.

Markets
During the month analysed , imports of frozen bluefin reported 837 tonnes, worth almost JPY 1,186 million, at Japan Customs, up 33% in volume and 36% in value on those of July 2017.

During the seven months of the year, imports reached 1,362 tonnes worth JPY 2,130 million, up 9% in volume and 41% in value on those of the same period in 2017.

During the seven months, Australia sent 818 tonnes of frozen bluefin to Japan, worth JPY 1,166 million. The 818 tonnes sent by Australia arrived in Japan in July, at an average price of JPY 1,426/kg.
