Russian fishermen completed 2020 with an increase of 1.2%: 4.97 million tons were extracted

According to the operational data of the sectoral monitoring system of the Federal Fisheries Agency, the total volume of production of aquatic biological resources by all Russian users as of December 31, 2020 amounted to 4.97 million tons, which is 57.4 thousand tons or 1.2% more than in 2019.
In the Far East fishing basin, the catch increased by 4.2% to 3.57 million tonnes. Pollock production increased by 6% to 1.83 million tons, cod - by 10.5%, to 171.9 thousand tons, flounder - by 10.3%, to 93 thousand tons, Pacific herring - by 6, 8%, up to 410 thousand tons.
Fishermen in the Northern Fishing Basin produced 0.6% less than the previous year, almost 492 thousand tons. The cod catch decreased by 3.8% - to 305.5 thousand tons. At the same time, the production volume of haddock increased by 15.4% - up to 88 thousand tons, catfish - by 2.5%, to 7.2 thousand tons, flounder - by 1.5%, to 12 , 9 thousand tons.
In the Azov-Black Sea fishing basin, the production volume decreased by 8.2%, to 68.5 thousand tons. Anchovy catches decreased 0.15% - to 31.1 thousand tons, Tulka - 34%, to 2.2 thousand tons. Sprat production increased 2% and reached 18.3 thousand tons.
The catch in the Western Fishing Basin increased 6.2% and amounted to 83.2 thousand tons. The sprat production volume increased by 11.8% - to 45.1 thousand tons, herring - by 4.7%, to 26 thousand tons.
The Volga-Caspian fishing basin produced 9.4% more than in 2019: 81.3 thousand tons. The sprat catch multiplied by 4.7 and reached 13.6 thousand tons.
In conventional areas, areas of foreign states and the open part of the World Ocean, the Russian fleet produced 626.5 thousand tons, 12.2% less than in 2019.
