The average price of imports of salted herring roe (HS 030520010) in September was JPY 1,088/kg, similar to the price registered in the previous month and 22% lower than in September 2018. During the first nine months, it averaged JPY 1,095/kg, down 16% on that of the same period in the previous year..

Markets
Imports of salted of herring roes (or dried), HS 030520010, reached 815 tonnes in the month analysed, worth JPY 887 million CIF at Japanese Customs, up 266% in volume and 65% in value than that imported in August and up 59% in volume and 23% in value on those of September 2018.
In the month of September 362 tonnes entered from Russia, at an average price of JPY 1,014/kg and 212 from Canada, at USD 1,284/kg.

During the period, imports totaled 3,011 tons per JPY 3,299 million, 11% less in volume and 25% less in value than in the same period last year.
The main supplier of herring roes of HS 030520010 was Canada during the period, with 1,298 tonnes and JPY 1,670 million.
