- Minister of PRODUCE, Sergio González, highlights that over 2.26 million tons of the resource have been unloaded to date.
The Minister of Production, Sergio González Guerrero, emphasized the success of the second anchoveta fishing season in the north-central region of the country, which to date has recorded the unloading of 2,261,124 tons, representing 90.08% of the assigned quota.
He noted that this season began on November 1, 2024, with the participation of President Dina Boluarte, and featured one of the highest quotas for a second season, totaling 2.51 million tons.
“Approximately 90% of that quota has already been captured, which amounts to over 2,200,000 tons. This is significant because it greatly contributes to our country's economic growth, generates foreign exchange, and creates jobs,” González affirmed.
The main ports where the resources were unloaded include: Chimbote, Malabrigo, Coishco, Callao, Supe, Tambo de Mora, and Chancay. The key processing plants that received the resource were: TASA (22%), COPEINCA (20%), Exalmar (17%), Diamante (11%), and Hayduk (9%).
