Official data on markets and prices for Atlantic salmon exports (Salmo salar) - W45

Prices
During week 45, the average price of fresh salmon (Salmo salar) was NOK 54.48 (EUR 5.41/kg). This price is up 3% on that of the previous week and down 5% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was up 6% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 58.95 (EUR 5.85/kg), 16% higher than the price of the previous week and 1% on the same week of 2018, growing 1% in relation to the 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 19,393 tonnes. This figure is down 11 on that of the previous week and up 4% on that of the same week in 2018; it was up 1% on that of the same week in 2017. So far this year, exports of salmon amounted to 804,606 tonnes, up 5% on that of the same period in 2018 and 13% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reached 383 tonnes. This figure is down 41% on that of the previous week and 11% higher on that of the same week in 2018, it was down 30% on that of the same week in 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 17,528 tonnes, up 12% on that of the same period in the previous year and down 6% on that of the same period in 2017.
