The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (SERNAPESCA) notified on Friday, November 15, Cermaq Chile's Ensenada Rys farming center, located in ACS 49A, Magallanes Region, as suspect of the presence of the infectious salmon anemia virus (ISA).
The detection was carried out within the framework of the surveillance that the cultivation centers maintain as part of the ISA Virus Surveillance and Control Program.
As indicated by Marcela Lara Fica, deputy director of Aquaculture "the Service activated the measures considered for these cases and is in coordination to assess the sanitary condition of the centers adjacent to the suspected case of ISAv".
The center presented negative results to ISA HPR0, consequently, the harvest actions and biosafety measures that will be required are being evaluated.
If the case is confirmed, as has been done on previous occasions, the Service will implement all necessary measures to protect the sanitary condition of the area and the region.
